FAQs

FAQs

01/

When I buy Alphonso mangoes in a store, are they really an Alphonso mango?

Some stores sell Atulfo mango from Mexico as Alphonso. Atulfo per box is $16 and they say its Alphonso so customers can pay $40 for the same box. Some stores are just misleading people. If you frequently eat Alphonso, you will know that it doesn't taste like an Alphonso. But if some time had passed since you ate one, you would think "oh, this isn't a good alphonso."

02/

Are your mangoes safer than store bought mangoes?

Google search Alphonso mangoes artificially ripened calcium carbide and you will see merchants chemically ripening these mangoes for consumption - that is not safe for our health.

Our partner uses ripening chambers approved by government bodies - so you know at least where your mango is coming from and if its safe to consume.

03/

Why are your mangoes fresher than store bought ones?

We do not use chemical preservatives or use cold storage to preserve the mango, because we don't store anything. Mango availability in grocery stores is traditionally managed using preservative treatments and cold storage supply chains. This ensures mangoes are preserved longer and are available to shoppers for longer periods. But that also destroys the composition, taste and aroma of mangoes. So we don't do that. Our concept is to harvest the mangoes, prepare them within a few days and directly ship them to you - so the mangoes are fresh and aromatic.

04/

Will every mango in the box be perfect?

On our part we do our best to ensure quality - from selecting the proper orchards, to proper quality control and transportation. We focus on delivering the best fruit to you in as good a shape as possible. But despite all this we cannot guarantee that the next mango will be as great as the previous one. That is determined by nature. Our effort is to use minimal processing and chemicals. We expect our fruit to taste great, and deteriorate as well as a natural produce item should.

05/

Why are Indian mangoes expensive?

The biggest chunk of the cost is for shipping by Air - this cost has actually gone up over the years as more and more people are going for authentic produce from International markets.
